WINCHESTER, Va. – E'leyna Garcia scored eight goals in Guilford College's 17-4 lacrosse win at Shenandoah University Saturday.
Samantha Sisson's free-position goal nearly 10 minutes into the match gave the Hornets a 2-1 lead. Guilford reeled off the next 10 goals, five by Garcia, and never looked back. Garcia converted a Lily Colley pass as time expired and sent the visitors into halftime with a 10-2 lead.
Amy Rollins' two goals led the Hornets, who scored their fewest goals of the season. Goalie Ashley Cross made five saves and picked up two ground balls. Sisson scored once and collected four ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Guilford remains in northern Virginia to play a nonconference game at Marymount University Sunday.
