Milbourn, Garcia Shine in Women's Lacrosse Win at Roanoke

SALEM, Va. – E'leyna Garcia scored six goals and two assists in Guilford College's 15-10 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC ) lacrosse win at Roanoke College Wednesday night.

Garcia scored four times in the decisive second half, which saw Guilford (7-3, 5-0 ODAC) outscore the Maroons (6-6, 3-1 ODAC), 9-4. She opened the second-half scoring with consecutive tallies 20 seconds apart. Her fifth goal capped the Quakers' 6-2 run to open the half and gave the visitors a 13-8 edge with 12:43 to play.

Becca Colley and Eleanora Keene both added three scores for Guilford. Colley added eight ground balls and Keene had five draw controls, both game highs. The Quakers got a strong game in goal from rookie Sammi Milbourn, who made a career-high 15 saves and picked up two ground balls.

Darragh Evarts paced the Maroons with six goals, four in the first half. Claire Feeney added three goals and an assist. Lauren Curtin made 11 saves in over 47 minutes before giving way to Allison Shannon for the remaining 12:43 of the game.

The Quakers visit Bridgewater College Saturday (4/5) for a 12 noon ODAC match.
