GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College's women's swimming team sits in 12th place among 12 teams after Saturday's second day of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Quakers have 32 points.

Ten-time defending league champion Washington and Lee University extended its sizable first-round lead in the largest championships field in league history. The Generals nearly doubled their Friday point total and have 715 points with one day of competition remaining. Randolph-Macon College (392) remained in second place and Bridgewater College jumped two spots into third place with 261 points. Emory & Henry College (232) and league newcomer Roanoke College (202) rounded out the top-five teams.

Guilford fielded entries in three of seven events Saturday and was led by a 15th-place showing by sophomore Carolyn O'Halloran in the 200-yard freestyle. O'Halloran placed 15th among 28 swimmers with a time of two minutes, 9.79 seconds, a shade slower than her qualifying time of 2:09.05, a season best and four-hundredths of a second off her school standard.

Senior Isabel Gutierrez posted a pair of 18th-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.91) and the 100 backstroke (1:11.90). Her breaststroke time marked a season low.

Freshman Courtney Packer was Guilford's third contestant Saturday. She placed 26th in the 100 breaststroke in a personal-best 1:51.34.

Coach Ashley Cox's team concludes competition Sunday (2/11), beginning at 10:00 a.m.
