ROANOKE, Va. -- Top-seeded Randolph-Macon College advanced to the semifinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Volleyball Tournament Friday with a 25-23, 25-15, 25-13 victory over number-eight Guilford College at Hollins University.
The Yellow Jackets (26-6) advance to the tournament semifinals to face seventh-seeded Roanoke College, a five-set upset winner over second-seeded Washington and Lee University. Guilford ends its most successful volleyball season since 2002 with a 12-15 overall record.
Rookie Brittany Freeman paced the Quakers Friday with 11 kills on a .303 hitting percentage, plus eight digs. Sophomore teammate Emma Gunn added four kills on .259 hitting and recorded a team-best six blocks (4 solo). Sophomore setter Taylor Phillips had 21 assists and later in the night was named an honorable mention All-ODAC selection. Classmate Mary Moody led Guilford with 10 digs.
