GREENSBORO, N.C. - Guilford College's volleyball team came out strong and claimed a 25-10, 25-21, 25-16 win over visiting Salem College Tuesday. After a decisive Quakers' victory in set one, the competitive second set saw 14 ties and six lead changes, before Guilford prevailed. The win gave the hosts the momentum to win the match.
Guilford (3-11) was led by senior Mary Moody, who recorded a match-high 11 kills and added seven digs. Fellow senior Emma Gunn had seven kills on .400 hitting, plus five blocks. Taylor Whitley contributed 32 assists and three service aces for the Quakers in the win.
Randi Roppolo paced the Spirits (1-10) with six kills and eight digs. Hart Wagner added five digs and eight digs. Brittany Miller led Salem with nine digs.
The Quakers will travel to Hollins University Thursday (9/27) where they will look to record their first Old Dominion Athletic Conference win.
