GREENSBORO, N.C. – Kerry Johnson had 10 kills on .571 hitting to help Virginia Wesleyan College past Guilford College Friday night, 25-16, 25-17, 25-13, in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball action. The Marlins improved to 18-6 (7-2 ODAC) with the win.
Tempe Martens had nine kills. Taylor Allen contributed eight kills on .500 hitting and five blocks, one solo. Setter Krista Sessoms tallied a match-high 22 assists and five digs. Kala Guy added eight kills. She also had a match-high three service aces and stood second in digs (9).
Kelsey Ruehling posted a team-high nine kills for the Quakers (9-14, 3-6 ODAC). Malikah French added four kills and Meredith Foscue contributed five digs in the contest. Taylor Whitley tallied 17 assists and three digs.
Guilford plays league-rival Randolph-Macon College Saturday (10/20) at 12:00 p.m. in the Ragan-Brown Field House.
