What were some key reasons you decided to attend Guilford?

One main reason I chose Guilford was to play soccer. I enjoyed soccer in high school and didn’t think I would get a chance to play anywhere else. My soccer coach approached me and asked if I would like to go play soccer at Guilford College. I immediately said yes and was amazed I got accepted to Guilford and was able to play the sport I wanted.

What were some factors that helped you realize the success you enjoyed as a student at Guilford?

Graduating in four years was my main priority and I accomplished that. Being able to play soccer all four years and keep my grades up was great as well.

What have you been up to since you left Guilford?

After graduating from Guilford I began looking for jobs related to my field of study, criminal justice. I was hired by the Gastonia Police Department in January 2016 and have been working nonstop.

How has Guilford prepared you for where you are today?

Guilford prepared me by helping me interact with a wide range of people in society. Guilford also helped me have an open mind about different subjects.

Being a student-athlete has helped me coach high school women and help them become student-athletes as well. I help coach a high school soccer team, so that keeps me involved with women who might have questions about college or soccer.

What do you miss most about Guilford?

I miss my friends the most and being able to see and talk to them every day. Without them, college wouldn't have been as much fun. I miss taking some of the courses there were interesting.

What are your future plans?

I hope to move up within the department to juvenile detective, to continue coaching and mentoring, to start a family, and to enjoy life!

What is one thing a high school student-athlete considering college needs to know?

One thing I would tell high school student-athletes is to learn as hard as you play. Sports are fun, but continue learning and getting an education.

Identify and describe one or two of your favorite moments or experiences while at Guilford.

One of my favorite moments, while I was at Guilford College, was winning my senior game while my family was there to watch.

Another moment was graduation. I believe it’s an accomplishment to graduate within four years.
