What were some key reasons you decided to attend Guilford?

From the small classroom sizes and caring professors, I knew I needed that type of learning environment to be successful in college. What stood out the most was Guilford’s rich history and long-standing academic reputation. Guilford was diverse and opportunistic for all students and student-athletes; that made my decision easy.

What were some factors that helped you realize the success you enjoyed as a student at Guilford?

The academic achievement I experienced was very rewarding. I was able to fully understand the curriculum and what was expected of me. It’s a cliché, but as a student-athlete, I was able to master the art of time management by juggling classes, practice, meetings, and my social life.

What were some things about Guilford that helped you realize the success you enjoyed as an athlete?

One thing is how the team was able to create and achieve a winning culture.  The life-long relationships and friendships I made with my teammates translated on the field. The 2016 football senior class and I were able to become the winningest class in school history and that’s what I enjoyed most about being an athlete.

What have you been up to since you left Guilford?

Since graduating in May 2016, I started my career in sales. My first job was with Time Warner Cable (Spectrum), and now I’m a Sales Consultant at Dude Solutions in Cary, N.C.

How has Guilford prepared you for where you are today?

With Guilford being a writing-intensive college, I’m able to excel in both verbal and written communication. Through my Guilford experience, I’m also able to rationalize and problem solve.

What about your experience as a Guilford student-athlete has helped you the most?

Wherever your career or life takes you it all boils down to your performance. Being a student-athlete at Guilford prepared me to consistently perform and compete at my best in order to make it.

What do you miss most about Guilford?

I miss the people the most. I met some of my closest friends and created some of my most meaningful relationships at Guilford. From the faculty and staff to the student body; I miss every single person that embodies Guilford College.

What are your future plans?

In today’s educational climate, the more the better. I’m preparing to pursue my MBA.

What is one thing a high school student-athlete considering college needs to know?

Coming out of high school my dad told me to go where I was most wanted. You need to determine who genuinely wants you the most and if that college or university can help you be successful athletically and academically.

Identify and describe one or two of your favorite moments or experiences while at Guilford.

I am most proud of going 9-1 in my senior football season. My second favorite moment was my junior year Serendipity weekend.
