    GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College athletics department announced the departure of Nick Black ’02 on Thursday afternoon. Black has been a member of the Quaker baseball coaching staff since his graduation, serving as the head coach for the past 16 seasons.

    The Guilford baseball completed an 18-8 victory ODAC foe Emory & Henry on Wednesday, recording 18 hits along the way. The Quakers (3-14, 2-14 ODAC) had six players with multi-hit performances including Ellis Stokes, who finished 4-for-4 from the plate with three runs scored and a pair of doubles.

    Guilford baseball built a 7-1 through the top of the fourth inning, but it was 16 runs over the final 5.5 innings by host Ferrum that allowed the Panthers to earn a 17-10 win at home in ODAC baseball action on Tuesday evening.

    Guilford (0-5, 0-5 ODAC) was led at the plate by designated hitter Bryce Vestal, who finished 2-for-3 from the plate with two RBI and two runs scored, which came by virtue of a home run. Ellis Stokes was also responsible for an RBI after finishing 1-for-4 in the game.
