Football Announces its 2021 Schedule Details

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College football team announced its schedule and ticket information for the 2021 season on Thursday. The Quaker's are excited to get to business as usual after only getting to take part in four contests during a nontraditional season earlier this year.

The 2021 slate features 10 contests, with five taking place at the Armfield Athletic Center and Appenzeller Field.

Kickoff on the season will take place on Sept. 4th as Guilford hosts Greensboro College for a 7 p.m. start time. The pair's history goes back to 1997 with the Quakers owning a 12-8 All-Time Series record over the Pride. In the last meeting between the two, Guilford came away with a 69-0 win in the Gate City Soup Bowl Game.

Sept. 11 will feature a road meeting with the Methodist University Monarchs with whom the Quakers hold a 22-11-0 All-Time Series lead. They have not met since 2019 when Guilford earned a hard-fought 19-14 win. The name of the game was defense, as the victors collected five interceptions and caused one fumble.

Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play will begin September 18th as Washington and Lee hosts for a 1 p.m. kickoff. It will continue on September 25 as Hampden-Sydney comes to town for a 1 p.m. contest.

Guilford College will return to the road on October 2nd as it travels to take on The Apprentice School. The two college's history goes all the way back to 1930 when the Quakers claimed a 14-6 win. They last time the pair met, nobody on the active roster was born, was September 29, 1990. As the host, Guilford was victorious in a narrow 20-17 battle.

 A two-game conference home stand will start with the Homecoming Game with Shenandoah University at 12 p.m. on October 9th. It continues with an October 16th meeting with Randolph-Macon

The Quakers will return to the road on October 30th for a 2 p.m. kickoff with the Ferrum Panthers. Despite falling 41-12 on February 26th, Guilford's Erdick Purnell had himself a day. The rising-senior owned one touchdown and 59 receiving yards on four targets, while also collecting 67 yards on three kickoff returns.

Guilford opens the month of November on the 6th as it hosts Emory and Henry for a 1 p.m. Senior Day meeting.

The regular season will wrap-up on November 13th as the Quakers travel to ODAC-foe Bridgewater for a 2 p.m. contest.

In regards to the 2021 roster, Guilford looks to return 70-plus athletes.
