Trio of First Half Goals Powers Guilford Victory

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The Guilford College men's soccer team extended its win streak to three after taking down Warren Wilson College behind a trio of first half goals on Sunday.

Guilford moved to 3-1 on the season after blanking Warren Wilson.

Freshman Adrian Pineda owned the Quakers' first goal of the contest, recorded just over 16 minutes in. Pineda's tally, the first of his collegiate career, proved to be the eventual game-winner.

The insurance goal was notched by Kenny Nzekwe 10 minutes later. Nzekwe's fifth goal of the season leads the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in this category.

Guilford's last goal was scored by Riley Copeland. Copeland is tied for first in the conference in assists (4) with Roanoke's Dylan Berk.

In goal, Roman Robinson turned away two Owls' shots.

Nzekwe and Copeland find themselves in a three-way tie for the top-spot in the ODAC for points, each with 10. While the former's are all from goals, the latter is from three goals and four assists.

Guilford returns to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday as it plays host to Averett University.
