GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College women's soccer team released its 2021 game schedule details on Tuesday afternoon. Its slate features eight home contests, with 17 games total.
The squad is excited to return to action after only taking part in seven games in a nontraditional season during the 2021 spring semester.
Guilford's season will commence with a series of three road games, starting September 1st at William Peace with a 5 p.m. start time. It continues at Salem on September 5th for a 2 p.m. contest, before rounding out at North Carolina Wesleyan on September 8th with a 4 p.m. start.
The Quakers make their first home turf appearance on September 11th when they host Meredith at 11 a.m.
GC will return to the road on the 15th as they travel to Methodist for a 6 p.m. game time.
A three-game home stand kicks off with the squad's final two non-conference matchups, starting on September 18th as it hosts Carolina University at 1 p.m. and then September 21st against Johnson and Wales at 6 p.m.
The conference slate begins and the month of September's contests end on the 25th at 2 p.m. with Lynchburg.
October play begins on the 2nd at Virginia Wesleyan and continues on the 6th as Guilford hosts Ferrum for a 7:30 p.m. start time. In the last meeting between the Panthers and the Quakers, the former came out on top in a very hard-fought 2-1 game. It was rising-junior Taylor Rumrill who owned GC's tally, connecting of a pass from her classmate Deanna Schlott.
The squad remains at home for a 4 p.m. matchup with Eastern Mennonite University on October 9th. The pair last met on March 4th when Guilford came away with a 1-0 victory. It was Crystal Rivas who notched the unassisted tally in the 56th minute.
GC returns to the road on October 12th as it travels to Washington and Lee for a 6 p.m. contest. The road trip continues on the 16th as the squad makes a stop at Shenandoah for a 1 p.m. match.
The Quakers make a quick stop at Armfield Athletic Center as they host Hollins October 19th in a 6 p.m. tilt.
The squad's last road games take place on October 23rd and 27th, as it travels to Randolph-Macon and Ranolph, slated for 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. starts, respectively.
Guilford closes out October and the regular season with a Senior Day matchup with Sweet Briar at 2 p.m. on the 30th.
